JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! Read the link after my comment! Please! There is nothing "liberal" in this (American Job's Act) plan and it certainly isn't cynical (see pot - kettle for the previous comment). This is just economics. Whether it will work or how much of it will pass, I don't know. What I do know is that Americans have to start to understand how this works. When Rick Perry can get up in a debate and say, "The Stimulus did not create a single job.", and get away with it we have a much larger problem. Until the American public stops believing this absurd idea that the private sector cares about them more than their government we are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the last 35 years. I believe there are benevolent corporations out there who do good works. I even know someone who runs one. The government is a last resort when things are at their worst. This is, indeed, a great excuse to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. I don't see Halliburton rushing in to do all this work for free.

You may not recognize his name, but if you saw the 1983 horror film Sleepaway Camp, you certainly remember his face. Jonathan Tiersten played Ricky, one of the lead characters in this cult classic, and his career has focused both on acting and music ever since. Tiersten, who grew up in Maplewood, is now based in Ft. Collins, Colorado and he’s releasing a new EP entitled We’ll See. The five tracks featured on We’ll See showcase Tiersten’s musical talents and diversity, ranging from catchy hard rock to bluesy, piano-driven melodies. The songs bring to mind artists such as Daughtry, Faith No More, and even David Bowie. In addition to his creative work as an actor, singer/songwriter, and composer, Tiersten is also a dedicated dad to his son, Micah, who turns five this month. Tiersten spoke to “The Mommy’s Review” and shared some of his favorite family entertainment picks:
HEAR: “Micah’s all-time favorite song is The Style Council's ‘Shout It To The Top.’ The song has so much energy that we all, including my wife Emily, cannot help but start dancing.”

SEE/READ
: “My son has very eclectic literary tastes, and he loves dinosaurs. Not in the normal way (like the way I did); he likes adult documentaries — the ones on Discovery and the National Geographic channel. He reads National Geographic for Kids magazine, and he’ll sit in the bookstore learning the names of each dinosaur and from which period they came.”

TASTE
: “The most important local landmark for me will always be The Roman Gourmet. It was the place where I ate my first slice of pizza. It was where I had my first date. It is where I learned to play Asteroids. It is where we gathered our illegal fireworks for July 4th. It was where I ate the day of prom. It is the first place I went to when I made my first trip back from Colorado, and I hope I can take my son there someday. Suffice it to say, it was the center of my universe in Maplewood, NJ. Oh, I almost forgot, they have great pizza!” 153 Maplewood Avenue, Maplewood, NJ 07040
